bp and EnBW submit Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) scoping request for Morgan wind farm generation assetsbp and EnBW have submitted their Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) scoping request for the Morgan wind farm’s generation assets to the Planning Inspectorate. This is the next step in delivering this project which is expected to provide up to 1.5GW of clean energy – enough to power approximately 1.7 million homes. The report explains how we will go about assessing and understanding any potential impacts the project may have on the environment.

Scoping ensures:

Key environmental and social issues to be addressed are identified at an early stage
The Environmental Statement is focused on the key issues
Consultation with relevant consultees occurs at an early stage

What’s next?

The Planning Inspectorate will now consult technical consultees for their views on what is in the report before issuing their scoping opinion. The scoping request for the transmission assets will follow. We currently expect the first round of non-statutory community consultation for the Morgan project will start in September 2022.
